A Hendersonville to Asheville Wedding Day to Remember: Julianna & Justin
Some wedding days feel like they’re taken straight out of a fairytale—and Julianna and Justin’s was exactly that. With a heartfelt ceremony at Fruitland Baptist Church in Hendersonville, followed by a joyful celebration in the ballroom of the Hilton Hotel in Asheville, every moment was filled with genuine love, warmth, and the kind of peace that only comes when two people are truly meant for each other.
The morning began quietly, with an atmosphere that was surprisingly calm and relaxed. There were no nerves, no stress—just smiles, laughter, and an overwhelming sense of excitement from everyone involved. Julianna and Justin set the tone with their laid-back, gracious spirits, making the entire day feel beautifully effortless. Before the ceremony even began, we were able to capture all of the formal portraits, taking full advantage of the gorgeous light and outdoor surroundings—without the bride and groom seeing each other. That first look was saved for one of the most emotional moments of the day.
As the doors opened and Julianna began her walk down the aisle, Justin’s reaction said everything. The two of them locked eyes, and it was as if time stood still. Their expressions were filled with joy, awe, and an undeniable sense of connection. It was such a powerful moment—not just for them, but for everyone witnessing it. The ceremony itself was spiritual and deeply meaningful, a perfect reflection of their faith and the foundation of their relationship. The quiet reverence in the church, paired with soft music and heartfelt vows, made it a moment no one will soon forget.
Following the ceremony, we continued with family and wedding party portraits, capturing the love and support that surrounded Julianna and Justin on their big day. Then came one of my favorite parts of the afternoon—bride and groom portraits. The two had chosen a special location just across the street from the church: a smaller, more intimate chapel that held personal significance for them. This little spot became the backdrop for some of the most romantic and emotional images of the entire day. The way they looked at each other, the way they held hands—it was raw, real, and honestly, I was obsessed with how these turned out. That little chapel added such a beautiful layer of meaning to their story.
After wrapping up our time in Hendersonville, we made our way to Asheville for the reception at the Hilton Hotel. The ballroom was elegant and full of life, buzzing with the excitement of family and friends ready to celebrate. Guests were treated to a delicious dinner, and the speech that followed from the maid of honor was nothing short of heartfelt. From emotional words shared by loved ones to the laughter that echoed through the room, her speech reminded us just how special Julianna and Justin are—not just to each other, but to everyone around them.
Once the formalities wrapped up, the dance floor came alive. There was dancing, laughter, and joyful energy that lasted well into the evening. It was such a fun atmosphere—one where every single guest seemed to be having the time of their life. But even amid all the celebration, we carved out a little more time for portraits. Around the hotel and even in the elevator, we found so many special areas to photograph the newlyweds. These extra portraits gave their gallery a wide variety of styles and moods—from romantic and moody to fun and spontaneous.
What made this wedding so special wasn’t just the beautiful locations or the carefully chosen details. It was Julianna and Justin themselves. They are two of the kindest, calmest souls I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. There’s an ease to their love that’s almost tangible—it makes you feel calm just being around them. And seeing the way they support, respect, and light up around each other was a gift in itself.
From the peaceful start of the day to the emotional moments in the chapel, to the energy of the dance floor and quiet portraits beneath the hotel lights—this day was unforgettable. Julianna and Justin, thank you for letting me be part of something so sacred and joyful. Your wedding was a true reflection of who you are: grounded in love, filled with grace, and surrounded by people who absolutely adore you.
Here’s to a lifetime of moments as beautiful as this one. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Gwaltney 🖤
