A January Styled Shoot...

We were expecting it to be cold. We were not expecting it to be wet and absolutely freezing... but that actually worked out in our favor!

Styled shoots are such an important part of the photography business. Making connections with other vendors is such an amazing experience, and I am thankful for the community this profession brings! If you're a photographer and you're lucky like me, then you know several other vendors who truly believe in community over competition as well.

A few months ago, my friend Rheanna with Magnolia Lace Photography contacted me about working with her to plan a styled shoot at River Ridge Farm in East Bend. This is an up and coming rustic wedding venue that is essentially a hidden gem!! Rheanna knows the kind venue owners and was sweet enough to offer a styled shoot to help advertise their business. We worked for months on all of the details, and we couldn't have made it happen without an amazing group of vendors!! I will be sure to list everyone below.

Photographers Hard at Work! We all moved as quickly as possible to get these models back to the warmth. Our team did an amazing job "sharing the spotlight" and trading spots to get the angles needed. Pictured here: models Stephen and Jodie, photographers Royal Photos and Hayley Jayne Photo

River Ridge Farm has a beautiful, white barn on a large piece of land that's ideal for chic, rustic weddings. There's more than one ceremony spot and the reception area is also laid out so well. Rain or shine, you can easily see how ideal this spot is for a gorgeous wedding that's special to you.

Our models Jodie and Stephen were such troopers for this shoot!! They came prepared to be pampered and photographed by eight photographers... and in the freezing cold! Thankfully we had heaters to send them to as much as possible to help warm up. We started in the barn for photos and then went outdoors, and back in the barn for reception photos.

I was so thrilled with this entire experience. Planning a styled shoot or attending one is always a fantastic way to help yourself grow as a vendor! I highly recommend it to everyone. I love any excuse to meet many more talented people in this photography and wedding world. Thank you all for helping to make this experience possible, successful, and fantastic!!
